Following the Buffalo

Gasping for Nordic air

Some brief relief

From this city's stubborn stare

And the syrup smoke we breathe

Earth is spinning in fever

Crying bitter rain

Groaning as we seed her

With our poison plastic plague

We are following the buffalo

To eternity

We're just an empty echo

Of who we could be

Giant glacier skyscrapers

Grind the ground

While greedy hands peel the earth

And pull her tall trees down

Night stalks like a hunter

We listen in the dark

At the anger in thunder

And the sorrow in stars

We are following the buffalo

To eternity

We're just an empty echo

Of who we could be

We strive for immortality

Puffed up with pride

We carve our mark on the centuries

While our trash rides the tide

Feigning fulfillment

From trinkets that we buy

Eyes planted on the pavement

And blind to the sky

We are following the buffalo

To eternity

We're just an empty echo

Of who we could be

Of who we could be
